Brouilly Creigne 2022, Chateau de Vaux

The 2022 Brouilly ‘Creigne’ is deep-coloured, fleshy and unctuous, with fine tannins and a distinctive black fruit overlay, finishing with a zippy, refreshing acidity.

The ‘lieu-dit’ Creigne is situated at the foot of the Côte de Brouilly, in the commune of Odenas, one of the leading villages making up the ‘cru’ of Brouilly.

 

Winemaker Yannick has a small 1.10 hectares of vineyard with 40 year-old vines, on the outstanding rootstock 420A (with low vigour and excellent drought tolerance). The soil is a combination of deep granite with a loose accumulation of rock and soil debris, at the foot of slope the Mont de Brouilly slope.
